She was predeceased by: her parents, Hollan Hughes and Alma Bowen Hughes. She is survived by: her husband Robert "Bobby" Smith; her children, Mark Owens (Laura) of Arnold, MD, Renae Taylor (Roger) of Lumberton, Amanda Anderson (Steve) of Bladenboro, Leigh Deaver (Pete) of Bladenboro and Kimberly Chafin (Keith) of Hartsville, SC; her siblings, Mitchell Hughes (Patsy) of Bladenboro, Harold Hughes (Erma) of Lumberton, Helen Petrucelli of Fayetteville, Nancy Sykes of Lumberton and Mary Eliason (Richard) of Burlington; her grandchildren, Lexi Turner (Rashawn), Chris Owens (Anna), Cory Hester (Leann), Jordan Hester, Nicholas Peavy, Owen Peavy (Tyler), Kassidy Leonard (Chris), Noah, Eric Deaver, Scott Anderson (Tiffany), Kinsley and Kullen Chafin; and her great grandchildren, Hollyn Hester, Riley Hester, Ella Grace, Hudson Leonard, Emmie, Alex Peavy, Helena and Kylie Owens.
