It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Bass Sykes of Bladenboro, North Carolina, born in Columbus, North Carolina, who passed away on April 3, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Albert Ross Bass; her husband John McRae Sykes; her daughter Delma Kay Sykes; and her brother Joseph Bass. She is survived by: her children, Crystal Simmons (Josh) of Whiteville, Kenneth M. Sykes (Lori) of Warrens, WI and Roger Dale Sykes (Jane) of Bladenboro. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
