He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Watkins and Pearl Watkins; and his brothers, Howard Watkins and Joseph Clyde Watkins, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Taylor Watkins; his children, Peter Watkins (Kelly) and Karen Braswell (Patrick); his sister Ruth Norton; and his grandchildren, Liam, Declan Braswell and Ensleigh Watkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church or Black Mountain Volunteer Firefighters Association.
