He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Walter and Eula Leona Parham Gurley. He is survived by: his wife Gladys Farmer Gurley; his children, Angela Raina (Supil), Venecia Willoughby and Arlin Gurley (Renee); his grandchildren, Eva Willoughby, Vincente Willoughby, Jasmine Gurley, Jacob Gurley, Isaac Gurley and Lavin Gurley; and his siblings, Jane Meehan and Jim Gurley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paralyzed Veteran's of America, 801 18th St. NW, Washington, DC 20006.
