She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Dwain Osborne McDougle and Janie Beth Seawright McDougle; her husband Alvis "Ossie" Osteen; her brother Don Lee McDougle (Mary) of Lebanon, TN; and her children, Vickie Osteen of Boone, Sherry Beth Osteen of Black Mountain, Edward Keith Osteen (Kaye) of Old Fort and Jed Douglas Osteen (Sherry) of Black Mountain. She was also cherished by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
