It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lena Brooks of Black Mountain, North Carolina, born in Fairview, North Carolina, who passed away on April 7, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Albert Searcy and Hetty Jane Clay Searcy; her husband Claude Brooks; her daughter Barbara Brooks; and her siblings, Walter Brooks, Mary Lula, Alice and Edith.
She is survived by: her children, James "Don" Brooks (Carol) of Berea, KY and Sandra Long (Kevin) of Linwood, NC; her sister Nancy Searcy of Fairview, NC; her grandchildren, Joseph Brooks (Cindy), Mark Brooks (Shelby), Brooks Long (Holly), Clay Long (Chloe) and Emily Distler (Chris); and her great grandchildren, Skyler Brooks, Griffen Brooks, Thomas Distler, Kade Long, Macon Long, Coley Brooks and Lillian Brooks.
