It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lea Bortell of Black Mountain, North Carolina, who passed away on October 12, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Hugh Tiller and Julia Caldwell Ashley; her former husband F. Vincent Ross; and her husband Carl Bortell. She is survived by: her daughter Kathy Messer (Allen) of Cliffside, NC; and her grandchildren, Laura Moore of Cliffside, NC and Logan Moore (Katie) of Sylva, NC.
