In loving memory of John M. Box Captain Usndc of Black Mountain, North Carolina, who departed this world on November 1, 2024 at the age of 91. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Marvin Box and Bertie Menefee Box; his children, John M. Box, Jr. and Nanette R. McBride; and his son-in-law Kenny Lee.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hughes Box; and his daughters, Alicia Andrews (Tommy), Mary Carlsson (Gunnar), Phyllis Duckworth (Mark), Abigail Steinbach (Sean) and Sheryl Lee. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Harwood Home For Funerals & Cremation Services (208 W State St, Black Mountain, NC 28711). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 1:45 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery (962 Old US Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC 28711).
