With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jey Deifell Jr. of Black Mountain, North Carolina, born in Wallace, North Carolina, who passed away on November 6, 2020 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise Holliday and John Jey Deifell. He is survived by: his granddaughter Madilyn; his nephew Christopher Hubbard; his wife Joan Chapman Deifell; his children, Tony Deifell of San Francisco, CA, David Deifell (Elizabeth) of Black Mountain, NC, Heather Deifell (Richmond) of Asheville, NC and Hope Deifell of Black Mountain, NC; his granddaughter Iona; his sisters, Holly Deifell Ormond (Lyman) and Ann Deifell Hubbard (Steve); and also, Cema Chreitzberg Chapman, Lamar Stuart Chapman and Naomi Mathews Deifell.
His Lord Jesus on Friday night, November 6, 2020, after succumbing to the COVID-19 virus while living at Givens Highland Farms Healthcare.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to the Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministries, the Montreat Presbyterian Church (PCUSA), the Christ Community Church Montreat (EPC), or First Church of Christ in Wethersfield (Congregational).
