He was predeceased by: his wife Mable Smith Lytle; his parents, Wayne Lytle and Elizabeth Lytle; his brothers, Cecil, Wilbert, George and Lewis Lytle; his brother-in-law Fred Smith; and his grandson Nino Luther.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Lytle of Black Mountain, Arlesia Lytle-Bryson of Black Mountain and Darrell "Eddie" Lytle of Black Mountain; his grandchildren, Akela Bryson, Kaaleem Bryson, Lyndsey Lytle Williams, Jordan Lytle, Clinton Lytle, Solomon Lytle, Roman Lytle and Terrell Lytle; his godchildren, Phil Lytle Jr. and Philethia Lytle-Holloway; his siblings, Lucille Lytle-Crump, Frank Williams (Candie) and Walter Williams; his siblings-in-law, Edward Smith, Peter Smith, Annie Mae Lytle-Young, Priscilla Lytle and Mary Lytle-Knapper; and his cousins, Roberta Boyd Sullivan, Hubert Boyd and Billie Jean Boyd-Rustin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
