Papay (Black Mountain, North Carolina), born in Secaucus, New Jersey, who passed away at the age of 91, on June 11, 2024. As Anne departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Anne. Though Anne may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edward Papay (NJ); and her brother William Hackett. She is survived by: her children, Ellen Sherlin of Fairview, Marianne Dwyer (Patrick) of Mercerville, NJ, Edward Papay of Netcong, NJ, Thomas Papay (Georgia), William Papay of Weaverville and Robert Papay of Oteen; her adoptive son Charles Chalker of Fairview; and her great grandchild Buster. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Asheville Humane Society where she adopted her loving cat, Buster.
