He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Sanders and Girdis Campbell Sanders; his wife Brenda "Jude" Sue Sanders; his son Ricky Sanders; and his siblings, Eugene Sanders, Betty Brown, Pearlie Mae Sanders and Cathy Wilmouth.
He is survived by: his children, David Sanders of Biscoe, Lori Ann Dawkins of Biscoe and Julie Maness of Biscoe; and his siblings, Larry Sanders of Biscoe, Carley Sanders of Biscoe, Doris Bruton of Mt. Gilead and Barbara Kaifos of Rockingham. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren.
