He was predeceased by: his parents, Emelien A. Rivard and Cecile Rivard (Bosse); and his son Robert Paul Rivard, Jr. (BJ). He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Louie Graffam, Timothy Graffam and Brad Graffam; his grandchildren, Rizzelle, Kayla, Ashley, TJ, Tyler, Jacob and Amber; and his sister Joline Mongeau. He is also survived by seven Great-Grandchildren.
