He is survived by: his wife Hilda Gray Futral; his daughters, Joan Thigpen Sherron (Robert) of Greenville, NC and Jeannette Thigpen Hudson (Ken) of Cape Carteret, NC; his brother Malcolm Thigpen of Beulaville, NC; his granddaughters, Jena Stuhr and Eryn Trible; and his great grandchildren, Eden, John Earl, ArieAnna, Leon, Jude and Iris.
