He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Eleanor Weston Kennedy; and his brothers, Lynwood Ralph Kennedy and Norwood Kennedy. He is survived by: his children, Melisa K. Browning (James) of Richlands, Jeri Denise K. Humphries (Wayne) of Beulaville and Jonathan R. Kennedy of Potters Hill; his siblings, Polly Jarman of Richlands and Larry Kennedy of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, James Alex Browning, III (Christina), Megan E. Ray (Austin), Tyler C. Humphries, Trevan J. Humphries and Trista S. Humphries; and his great grandchildren, Rush A. Browning and Charlotte M. Ray.
