He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell "Runt" Costner and Beatrice "Bea" Costner; his wife Faye "Tooger" Steelman Costner; and his granddaughter Beverly Dills. He is survived by: his children, Cheri Shull (Steve), Kimberly McBee (Frank) and Gregory Costner; his sisters, Sandra Conrad (James) and Sue Ann Payne (Mike); his grandchildren, Amy Dills, Travis Shull and Dustin McBee; his great grandchild Tyler Bess (Ally); and his great great grandchild Paisley-Faye Bess.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hardin Community Baptist Church.
