He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Alexander Lingerfeldt and Lucille Scism Lingerfeldt. He is survived by: his wife Edith Landers Lingerfeldt; his children, Richard "Wayne" Lingerfeldt (Debbie), Barbara Lingerfeldt and Alan Lingerfeldt (Kim); and his brother Michael P. Lingerfeldt (Neverlyn). He is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
