With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Vesta Louise Lankford of Bessemer City, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 12, 2024 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Ernest and Shirley Carpenter Jones; and her husband Fred Steele Lankford, Sr.. She is survived by: her sons, Fred Steele Lankford, Jr. and Brent Lankford (Lisa); her grandsons, Carson Lankford and Steele Lankford; and her sisters, Ruby Gholson and Marlene Friday.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the First Baptist Church (107 E Washington Ave, Bessemer City, NC 28016). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at the Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery (800 N 13th St, Bessemer City, NC 28016).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Vesta's name to First Baptist Church, 107 E Washington Ave., Bessemer City, NC 28016.
