She was predeceased by: her parents, Yates Scism and Lillie Belle Scism; her husband Bobby Joe Capps; her brother Johnny Scism; and her grandson Jeffrey Scott Sessoms, Jr..
She is survived by: her daughter Sharon Sessoms Shifflett of Kings Mountain; her close friend Garland Sipes; and her siblings, Bobbie Montgomery of Maiden and Tommy Scism of Hickory. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.
