He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean McSwain Farris; his children, Wanda Jean Farris Murphy (Charles) of Bessemer City, Kenneth Gene Farris (Donna) of High Shoals and Torben Gene Farris of Gastonia; his grandchildren, Michael Fields, Michelle Fields, Darie Mathis, Charles Murphy, Terran Farris and Lindsey Farris; his great grandchildren, Raelyne Wright, Tylan Ray and Isaiah Ray; and his brothers, Ray Farris and Bobby Farris.
