He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Louis Blackledge and Willie Kate Thames Blackledge; his wife Joan Marie Tate Blackledge; and his brother Glynn Blackledge. He is survived by: his children, Rick Blackledge (Linda) of McAdenville, James Blackledge (Cecilia) of Lincolnton and Debbie Blackledge Kocher (Dan) of Huntersville; and his sister Jerri Blackledge Easterly of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
