He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Keith and Mary Jeanette Garrett Bess; and his sisters, Diane June Bess Dedmon and Penny Allison Bess. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Leatherman Bess; his stepsons, Ethan Beck (Kaci) and Logan Beck (Brittany); his siblings, Lynn Bess Gray (Mike) of Rock Hill, Joy Whittington (Kevin) of Bessemer City, Bobby Blanton (Monica) of Gastonia and Wayne Short (Betty) of Kings Mountain; his grandchildren, Paxton, Hattie, Kaiden and Marrisa; and his nieces and nephews, April Dellinger Sprouse, Makayla Gray Jonathan Pack (Stacie), Lizabeth Dedmon, Taylor Whittington and Stormy Bailey.
