She was predeceased by: her father Jacob Edward Cooper; her husband John Arnold Atwell; and her son-in-law Ben Hayes. She is survived by: her daughters, Andrea Hayes and Cindy Atwell; her grandchildren, Mark, Christina (Wes), Calvin and Candy; her great grandchild Makayla; and her great great grandchildren, Jaxson and Jayce. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 38011 Morrisonville Rd, Lovettsville, VA 20180.
