He was predeceased by: his son Ronald Cowan; and his siblings, Nettie Clark and Lewis Kitchen. He is survived by: his wife Mary Anderson Cowan; his daughter Rebecca Martin of Angel Buentipo; his stepchildren, Renee Greene and Butch Campbell; and his grandchildren, Kia Buentipo, Keanu Buentipo, Tabitha Nettles, Lee Bo Horne, Nick Greene, Shiny Woodard, Nichole McMullen and Bobby Campbell.
