Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Kathleen McSwain Kinley of Bessemer City, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 96, on December 18, 2024. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Victor and Elsie Black McSwain; her husband Ernest Claude Kinley; her son Jerry Lee Kinley; and her siblings, O. V. McSwain, Jr., Paul McSwain, Jerome McSwain, Robert McSwain, Jack McSwain, Betty Farris and Shelva Russ.
She is survived by: her children, Boyce Kinley (Jody) and Diane Smith (Darrell); her grandchildren, Brenda Kinley Cunningham (Darrin), Brian Smith (Victoria) and Jason Smith (Megan); her great grandchildren, Chris Cunningham, Cheyenne Carlson (Lars), Johnathan Cunningham, Clyde Smith and Zoey Smith; and her sister Pauline Watson (Melvin). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and her friend.
The lying in state was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services (1100 E Main St, Cherryville, NC 28021). A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery (5306 Dallas Cherryville Hwy, Bessemer City, NC 28016).
