He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Oates and Katie Mae Oates; and his nephew Nathan Jenkins. He is survived by: his wife Cleo C. Oates; his children, Sherry Clubb (Wayne Pendleton), Mac Clubb and Dawn Whitted (Van); his grandchildren, Blake Clubb, Kaylynn English, Luke, Eli and Samuel Whitted; his siblings, Susan O. Jenkins (Mack) and Henry W. Oates (Barbara); his parents-in-law, George and Phyllis Clubb; and his nieces and nephews, Seth Jenkins (Sarah), Paul Jenkins, Deanna Merrill (Jonathan) and Emily Payne (Travis).
