With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Mason (Bessemer City, North Carolina), born in Chester, South Carolina, who passed away on July 28, 2020 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Jonas and Anna Marie Vanadore Tomberlin; her husband Howard Melton Mason; her siblings, James, William, Joseph, Erskine, Clifford Tomberlin, Robbie Lee Lawrence, Elizabeth Howell, Betty Gato, Idoynia Page and Jean Tomberlin; and her grandson Timothy Scott Mason.
She is survived by: her children, Joyce Fraley of Cherryville, Mary Watkins of Lincolnton and Ernest Mason of Gastonia; and her siblings, Rachel Hartness of Gastonia and Steve Tomberlin of Kings Mountain. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great grandchildren.
