She was predeceased by: her parents, Fannie Gibson Barnes and Ernest Meek Barnes; her husband Richard Damual Carswell; her daughter Suzanne Carswell; her son-in-law Paul Lowman; and her brothers, Roy Lee Barnes, Ernest Andrew Barnes, Thurman Barnes, Ken Barnes, Louis Barnes and Jerry Ray Barnes.
She is survived by: her daughters, Melissa Carswell Littlefield and Sherry Lynn Riley; her grandchildren, Jon Jansen (Marci), Christopher Jansen (Meghan), Carrie Renee Powell (Gregg), Mary Anne Stover (Kevin) and Richard Hawkins; and her great grandchildren, Victoria, Patrick, Tye, Clarissa, Evan, Christian, Teagan, Emily, Nolan, Hazel and Silas.
