With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Smitty Edward (Benson, North Carolina), who passed away on August 20, 2023 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Edward "Tom" Benson; and his father-in-law Hersel Dunn. He is survived by: his wife Stephanie Dunn Benson; his son Hunter Benson (Leanna); his mother Jackie Johnson Benson; his sisters, Jan Benson Rhodes (Jervis), Joy Benson Canaday (Jonathan) and Jill Benson Norris (Keven); his nieces and nephews, Brittany Benson, Abby Rhodes, Nathan Canaday, Addison Canaday, Cody Norris (Caroline), Colton Norris, Jennifer Norris, Ryan Dunn, Reilly Dunn, Hannah Register Roberts (Sauyer) and Hayden Register; his mother-in-law Peggy Dunn; and his siblings-in-law, Patty Register (Charles Wayne) and Ronald Dunn.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made in memory of Smitty, to Burnell Baptist Church Building Fund C/O Mandy Davis 643 Shade Tree Road, Benson, NC 27504.
