It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Stephenson Byrd of Benson, North Carolina, who passed away on November 11, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Irving Stephenson and Minnie Etta Barefoot Stephenson; her husband Zeb B. Byrd, Jr.; and her granddaughter Dawn Pilar Byrd. She is survived by: her children, Charles Byrd, Amy of Benson, Sandra Daniels (Bill) of Benson, Phillip Byrd of Benson, Steve Byrd (Karen) of Angier and Rodney Byrd (Erica) of Benson; and her grandchildren, Zeb Byrd, Austin Byrd, Brent Massengill (Shannon), David Massengill (Christy), Sandy Barnes (Danny), Heather Hall (Johnathan), Jonathan Daniels (Brandie), Phil Byrd, Jr. (Bonny), Lee Byrd (Erin), Emmy Byrd (Hunter) and Elli Anna Byrd. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Inc. (301 W Main St, Benson, NC 27504). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church (8991 NC Hwy 27 E, Benson, NC 27504).
