It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Linda Faye Evans Jernigan of Benson, North Carolina, who passed away on January 26, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sampson Roosevelt and Ethel Lee Evans; her husband Bobby Jernigan; her daughter Linda Dudley; and her siblings, Owen Evans, Elvin Evans, Barbara Norris, Jimmy Evans, Carolyn Jones, Kenneth Evans, Tony Evans and Junior Evans.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Cook of Four Oaks, Cindy Herring (Jay) of Dunn and Brian Jernigan of Benson; her stepson Ricky Jernigan (Teresa) of Coats; her grandchildren, Crystal Knuckles, Buckwheat Blackman, Travis Cook, Hailee Jernigan and Brysan Jernigan; her stepgrandchildren, Patsy Walker, Christy Dupree, Mindy Williams, Brad Herring, Chad Herring and Eric Herring; and her sisters, Elgie Lee of Benson and Joyce Blackmon of Dunn. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
