He is survived by: his significant other Christy Dawson; his son Jake Dawson of Benson; his parents, John Dawson and Gay Dawson of Four Oaks; and his siblings, Chad Grimes (Rebecca) of Apex, Melissa Stephenson (Scott) of Willow Spring and Meredith Hayes (J. R.) of Graham.
