She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Golden "Buddy" and Lomie Johnson Wood; her husband Talbert Green "T. G." Matthews, Jr.; her son Rollins Michael Matthews; and her sisters, Elgie and Wood Rogers.
She is survived by: her son Stephen Neal Matthews (Tracie Smith Rhodes) of Benson, NC; her grandson Austin Neal Matthews of Benson, NC; and her brother Larry Golden Wood of Winston Salem, NC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
