Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved David Eugene Clifton of Benson, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 77, on December 3, 2024. Though David Eugene may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those David Eugene touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his father James Lonnie Clifton. He is survived by: his mother Louise Bryant Clifton; his wife Reba Clifton; his brother Donald Clifton (Cathey); his niece Tracy Quillen (Tom); his aunt Ruby Schmidt; and his cousin Mitchell Clifton. He is also survived by many extended family members including many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rose and Graham Funeral Home (301 W Main St, Benson, NC 27504). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Benson City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
