She was predeceased by: her parents, William Lenon and Eunice Pittman Barefoot; and her siblings, Kenneth Barefoot, Danny Barefoot and Becky Jernigan.
She is survived by: her husband Vernon Gales; her son Chris Gales (Connie); her grandchildren, Will Gales (Miciah) and Shelby Gales; her great grandchild Greyson Gales; her stepgrandchildren, Hannah Lee (Thomas) and Cecil Dale Thornton (Annika); her stepgreat-grandchildren, Ayden, Layton and Tucker; and her pets, Deuce, Willie, Teddy Ray and Lucy Lou. She is also survived by her husband of 51 years and their family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Inc. (301 W Main St, Benson, NC 27504). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel (301 W Main St, Benson, NC 27504).
