He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Rossie Graden and Versie Wood Blackman; his wife Patricia Lane Medlin Blackman; and his sister Dorothy Blackman Shockley. He is survived by: his children, Alex Blackman, Jr., Debbie Harrell (Bobby) and Cindy Cole (Bill); his grandchildren, Jason Cole, Heather Brown (Michael), Ben Harrell (Stephanie), Abigail Harrell and Malcolm Blackman; his great grandchildren, Raleigh Cole, Liberty Cole and Jackson Harrell; and his brother Corbett Blackman (Sue Lynn) of Dunn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
