He was predeceased by: his father William Thomas Gatlin; his wife Mary Joyce Purvis Gatlin; and his siblings, Clara Brewer (Lacy), Pauline Bowman (Howard), Nellie Freeman (Wesley), Ralph Gatlin (Edna), Franklin Gatlin, Lester Gatlin Lonnie Gatlin (Clara) and Ernest Gatlin.
He is survived by: his sons, Delmar Gatlin and Jeffery Gatlin; and his sisters-in-law, Ruth Barker, Louise Gatlin, Mary Gatlin, Esther Maness (Reece) and Nancy Purvis. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
