She was predeceased by: her parents, Nereus William and Leora Ward Chappell; her husband McMullen White; her grandson Stephen White; her sister Jeanne White (late Whitey White); and her siblings-in-law, Ruby Chappell and Jack Symons.
She is survived by: her children, Carole W. Baker (Tim) of Kitty Hawk, Rick White of Elizabeth City and Don White (Melody) of Tyner; her siblings, Linda Roberts of Virginia Beach, VA, Willie Mae Symons of Hertford and Billy Chappell of Richmond, VA; and her grandchildren, Leah of Tyner, Michael (Britney) of Elizabeth City, Corey (Anna) of Helena, MT, Will of Raleigh, Lane of Tyner and Holly (Erik) of Edenton. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the building fund of Piney Woods Friends Meeting, 118 Piney Woods Road, Belvidere, NC 27919.
