It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Florence Winslow Nowell of Belvidere, North Carolina, who passed away on February 8, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Luther and Esther Jane White Winslow; her husband Walter Thomas Nowell, Sr.; and her siblings, Lillian Powell, Jessie, Sibyl Winslow, Lloyd, Alvin and Jasper Winslow.
She is survived by: her children, Betty Jo Ryan (David) of Greenville, Tommy Nowell of Belvidere and Roger Nowell of Hertford; her grandchildren, Seth Ryan (Lindsay) and Jenna Avent (J.); and her great grandchildren, Amethyst, Arlo, Wren Ryan and Orin Avent.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Up River Cemetery Fund, in care of Veronica Rountree, 553 Turnpike Road, Belvidere, NC 27919.
