She was predeceased by: her parents, James Marion and Junie Benfield Bowen; her son Mark Strickland; and her siblings, Dorothy Harris and Jimmy Bowen.
She is survived by: her son Michael Strickland; her brother Thomas Franklin; her sister-in-law Patricia Bowen; her sister Jessie; her brother-in-law Marion Beach; and her extended family, Cathe Burleson, Patty Padilla and Wilfredo Mejia. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
