He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Chapman Robinson; his former wife Betty Cavender Robinson; his daughter Kim Griggs; and his sisters, Eunice Skelton and Geraldine Stafford.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Burch Robinson; his son David A. Robinson, II of Myrtle Beach, SC; his granddaughter Madison'Maddie'Robinson Sirbaugh (Josh) of Conway, SC; his brother Max Robinson (Brenda) of Belmont; and his sister-in-law Patsy C. Ward of Gastonia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Adult VI Class of South Point Baptist Church; Alexander Memorial Baptist Church, 208 S. Main St., Belmont, NC 28012; or to the Belmont Historical Society, 40 Catawba St., Belmont, NC 28012.
