He was predeceased by: his parents, George Washington McKinney and Wilma Garner McKinney; his sisters, Bobbie O'dell, Lois Jacobs and Lorene Cummings; and his aunt Gladys Stafford.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Stafford McKinney; his sons, David Neil McKinney, Jr. (Kathy) of Belmont and Danny McKinney (Janet) of Belmont; his siblings, Nancy Ferstl (David) of Belton, TX, James B. "Jim" McKinney (Patricia) of Clover, SC and George "Frank" McKinney of Belmont; his grandchildren, Kathryn McKinney Lewis (John), Catie Farr (Dale), Stephanie McKinney McCurry (Brad) and Ryan McKinney (Abbey); and his great grandchildren, Daniel Ryan Lewis, Emerson Kate Lewis, Merrick Blanche McKinney, Ryker Lee Farr and David Alexander "Dax" McKinney. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
