He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Hendrix and Nina Lyle Wagner Hendrix; his wife Velma Shirley Hendrix; his siblings, Johnny Hendrix, Charlie Hendrix, Donnie Hendrix, Gracie Wireman and Beulah Gourley; and his son-in-law Jay Guin.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Jamie Hughes and Jesse; his nephew Robert David Albin; his siblings, David Hendrix, Patty O'Brine and Mary Brady; his children, Denise Guin of Tuscaloosa, Michele Hughes (Mel) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Kevin Hendrix (Gloria) of Wilson, NC, Carol Rose (Jim) of Shelby, NC, Rod Hendrix of Wilson, NC and Chris Hendrix (Dawne) of Grimesland, NC.; his grandchildren, Chris Guin, Jonathan Guin (Erin), Tyler Guin (Tara), Philip Guin, Will Hughes (Beth Anne), Clint Hendrix (Danielle), James Rose, Leah Buffington (Tate), Laura Rose, Christy Stearns (Richard), Kandace, Hailey Hendrix, Hannah Hendrix and Jason Burleson; and his close friends, Dr. Mark Beamer, Vanessa Beamer, Paul Tackett, Jr., Lynn Clayton, Dale Morgan and Jake Pilgreen. He is also survived by his 20 great grandchildren.
The family asks that COVID protocol be observed by wearing masks and social distancing.
