He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Milton Guthrie and Cassie Campen Potter; and his siblings, Ted Guthrie, Sina Thurman, Beatrice Foster and Frances Foster.
He is survived by: his son Tilmon Guthrie, Jr. of Vanceboro; and his grandson Ronnie Guthrie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
