He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius H. Purvis and Sophronia Topping Purvis; his wife Barbara "Bunny" Purvis; his son Jay Purvis; his brother Gene A. Purvis; his son-in-law Harry Robinson; and his great grandchild Ava Renee Robinson.
He is survived by: his daughter Julie P. Robinson (Tom Horne) of Chapel Hill; his grandson Casey P. Robinson (Amanda) of Burgaw; and his great grandchildren, Airley Rose and Annalee Grace Robinson.
