He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottis Lee Cox and Lula Mae Cuthrell Cox; his son Robert Stephen Cox; and his siblings, Hyler Cox and Elsie Cox Balance.
He is survived by: his wife Victoria L. Ruark; his children, Victor Lee Cox (Mary) and Deborah Cox Johnson (Ricky); his granddaughters, Rebecca Cox Spencer (Daniel) of Manteo and Hannah V. Cox of Manteo; and his great grandchildren, Ella and Landon Spencer.
