He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lamar Laney and Emma Victoria Kelly Laney; his son Randy Len Laney; and his sister Dorothy Opal Thrash. He is survived by: his wife Mary Christine Laney; his daughters, Kathy Laney Williamson (Lee Radcliffe) of Belhaven and Linda Laney Rushin (Melvin) of Mebane; his grandchildren, Rachel Brinn (Steven), Kelly Myers (Bryan), Joni Monroe (Nick), Jason Laney (Jessica) and William Rushin; his great grandchildren, Lilly Laney, Sophia Laney, Evelyn Laney, Laney Brinn, Everette Brinn, Gavin Myers, Cooper Myers and Emma Monroe; and his siblings, Charles Rudon Laney of New Albany, MS and Hilda Laney Cheatham of Union, MS..
