He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Charles Mason (Susan) of Atlantic, Jennifer Mason of Apex, Jeffrey Mason of Kernersville and Stephanie Shady (Jim) of Beaufort; his grandchildren, Dawn Mason Thomas and Mason Shady; his great grandchildren, Peyton Thomas and Hannah Thomas; his caregiver Lib Aldridge of Harlowe; his wife Selma Nelson Mason; his parents, Roy Mason and Beatrice Mason; and his siblings, Merle Gresham Mason, Mary Louise Langdon and Betty Jane Diffee.
