She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Henderson and Mamie Henderson; her siblings, Fred Henderson, Margaret Revander, Henry Henderson and Samuel Henderson; and her grandson Joshua Ely.
She is survived by: her children, Vanessa Smallwood (Michael) of Chesapeake, VA, Darnell Jarman of Greenville, NC, Tanya Ely-Nolen (Thomas) of Beaufort, Natasha Wilson (Charlie) of Havelock and Elbert Higgs of Newport; and her sisters, Mary Gibbs of Greenville, NC and Bessie Bowie. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren.
