It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Derwood Brittingham Sr. of Beaufort, North Carolina, who passed away on November 19, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Brittingham and Arlene Brittingham; and his siblings, Sandra Britt and Ralph Brittingham. He is survived by: his wife Mae Brittingham; his children, Melinda Davis (Buddy) of Atlantic, NC, Brenda Bridgers (Todd) of Otway, NC and Robby Brittingham (Wendy) of Otway, NC; his siblings, Billie Massey (Jesse) of Boerne, TX and Buddy Brittingham (Kim) of Beaufort, NC; his sister-in-law Marcella Brittingham of Cedar Island, NC; his grandchildren, Jasmine Davis, Kelly Styron (Richard), Megan Davis, Carson Fulcher (Matthew), Marlee Brittingham, Wyatt Bridgers, Warren Bridgers and Will Bridgers; and his great grandchildren, Emily Davis, Richard Styron Jr., Willow Styron, Summer Styron and Tucker Davis.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cedar Island Methodist Church (2943 Cedar Island Rd, Cedar Island, NC 28520). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at the Cedar Island Community Cemetery.
